A video posted by several Facebook users claims polling firm OCTA Research has debunked the results of a recent survey in which Vice President Sara Duterte received a higher rating than President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. This is false.

The video used was from an interview taken in February 2025 when a different fake survey attributed to OCTA Research was circulating. The recently published satisfaction rating poll, likely referred to in the posts, was conducted by Social Weather Stations, not OCTA Research.

On Feb. 10, a user shared a video showing an interview of OCTA Research President Ranjit Singh Rye in a news report. The clip contains the following superimposed text:

nagsalita na ANG octa research SA lumalabas na survey NI Sara Marcos Jr (OCTA research has spoken on the circulating survey of Sara and Marcos Jr)”

Its caption further stated:

Falo4mor. makinig kayong mabuti mga DDS na mahilig sa surveys dyan na angat daw si Lustay, napakaliwanag po na PEKE

(Falo4mor. Listen carefully, DDS who are fond of surveys saying Lustay is leading. It is clearly fake).”

The term “Lustay” refers to Duterte, describing her reported spending of P125 million in confidential funds within 11 days.

The clip was reposted multiple times on the same platform. One of the users who re-uploaded the video even claimed that Marcos’ ratings remain high.

The recent survey published by SWS, in which Vice President Sara Duterte received a higher rating than President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., is legitimate. The clip used in the post is from a February 2025 interview about a fake survey.

A reverse image search reveals that the clip was originally published by Radyo Pilipinas on Feb.18, 2025. In the interview, Rye denied that OCTA Research conducted such a survey, which spread in the same month last year and turned out to be fake.

The publishers of the video made it look like Rye’s statement was pertaining to the survey results released early this month by SWS, which can be found on its official website.

In the SWS survey results, 54% of the respondents said they were satisfied and 26% were dissatisfied with Duterte’s performance, earning her a net satisfaction rating of “moderate” +28.

On the other hand, Marcos’ net satisfaction rating stayed “neutral” at -3, with only 40% of respondents saying they were satisfied and 43% dissatisfied with his performance.

The OCTA Research has not yet released its own performance rating of top government officials this year. Its latest nationwide poll was in 2022 during the national elections.

The out of context video, shared by FB users Edgar Padulip Magat and Jovz Magpayo, collectively garnered 105,000 views; 5,161 reactions; 2,747 comments; and 1,191 shares.
