A Facebook page posted a survey allegedly from Social Weather Station (SWS), claiming that Pasig City mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya received a higher trust rating than re-electionist Vico Sotto. This is fake.
First uploaded on April 16, the erroneous infographic shows that Discaya earned a 48% trust approval rating, while Sotto only received 45%, with 7% of respondents undecided. It claimed that the survey was conducted by “PasigPH Chapter” in the first and second districts of the city.
Another post using the same photo bore the caption:
“Ate Sarah’s Hard Work is Paying Off! From the smallest barangay gathering to the biggest youth concert, Ate Sarah has always shown up, not for fame, but for genuine public service.
Let’s keep the momentum going. Tuloy-tuloy lang po ang laban para sa #BagongPasig!”

The SWS has no record of releasing or conducting such a survey, according to its official website. It also does not have a chapter in Pasig, contrary to the information indicated in the misleading graphics.
A keyword search further reveals that the PhiltechDev Transparency Survey, also cited as a source of the survey, is nonexistent.
A similar fake post with the same infographic design was fact-checked by the Philippine Star in 2021, when Sotto was running for his second term as mayor.
The misleading survey appeared two days after the Commission on Elections dismissed the disqualification case filed against Sotto. The petition was filed by Curlee Discaya, Sarah’s husband, last Jan. 28.
The two Facebook posts collectively garnered 11,100 reactions, 2,157 shares, and 2,100 comments.
