A YouTube video claims that United States (U.S.) President-elect Donald Trump has visited Vice President Sara Duterte to forge an alliance with her family. This is not true.

This is a clickbait. There was no such visit and neither was there any expressed intention, nor announcement for said meeting with the vice president.

Uploaded on Jan. 5, the video’s headline read:

MALAKING GOODNEWS ITO! Donald Trump Saneb-Pwersa nasa DUTERTE? BBM Paheya Hindi imbitad0 Laglag na (This is big good news! Donald Trump joined forces with the Dutertes? BBM was embarrassed, not invited. Left out)?”

Its thumbnail also bore the text: “LAHAT NA-SHOCKED! DONALD TRUMP BUMISITA KAY VP SARA (Everyone was shocked! Donald Trump visited VP Sara)!

At the video’s 0:46 mark, the voice-over speculated on the possibility of Trump visiting Duterte:

Diumano ay baka raw bibisita ang bagong pangulo ng Amerika na si Donald Trump sa Office of The Vice President na pinamumunuan ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

(Allegedly, the new president of America Donald Trump will be visiting the Office of the Vice President led by Vice President Sara Duterte).”

A graphic card with the text: U.S. President-elect Donald Trump did not visit Vice President Sara Duterte and has not expressed intentions of doing so There are also no official announcements from the Trump campaign, nor any government agency in the Philippines and the U.S. that he will visit the vice president.

Trump has not visited Duterte to “enter into an alliance with her family.”

There was also no official announcement from the Trump camp nor any Philippine and U.S. government agency about this alleged visit.

The video emerged days after Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez said he will be attending Trump’s inauguration on behalf of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The video merely showed a previously fact-checked vlogger who claimed that Marcos was not invited to Trump’s inauguration because they do not have a close relationship, and that Trump is closer with the Dutertes.

Uploaded by YouTube channel PINAS NEWS INSIDER, the erroneous video obtained 196,130 interactions.
