A video of United States President Donald Trump supposedly encouraging Filipinos to stand up against corrupt politicians is circulating online. The clip is fake and has been manipulated using artificial intelligence.

On July 15, a TikTok user posted a 29-second clip showing Trump addressing the Filipino people. Trump appeared only in the first four seconds while the rest of the video showed random clips. Throughout the video, Trump’s voice can be heard saying:

“Beautiful people of the Philippines. Your country is being robbed by corrupt politicians. They steal your money, betray your trust and sell out your future. But you have the power to stop them. Rise up, demand justice and take back your nation. The world is watching. Be brave, be bold and fight for the Philippines you deserve. God bless you.”

A reader sent a copy of the video, which was reposted on Facebook, to the VERA Files Misinformation Tipline for verification.

This is fabricated. A voice clone of Trump was overlaid on a clip from an unrelated speech.

The circulating clip of U.S. President Donald Trump supposedly addressing the Filipino people was manipulated using artificial intelligence. A voice clone was edited over one of Trump’s speeches last June.

The Associated Press’ YouTube channel streamed the original video on June 22, when Trump addressed the American people after the U.S. forces struck Iran’s nuclear sites. Trump did not mention anything about the Philippines.

Trump’s mouth movements do not match the overlaid audio – a telltale sign that it was an AI voice manipulation.

This is not the first time that VERA Files debunked an AI-manipulated video featuring the American president.

The fabricated video started circulating six days after the U.S. set a 20% tariff on Philippine goods. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with Trump on July 22 at the White House to address the matter.

The TikTok user’s post has so far garnered 47,600 reactions, 3,023 comments, 4,859 shares and 865,300 views. A copy reposted by FB user Fearless shell has also received 45,000 reactions, 1,600 comments, 12,000 shares and 1,600,000 views.
