Several videos announcing the distribution of school incentives to students are circulating online. These are fake and manipulated using artificial intelligence.

Facebook pages have been sharing since Nov. 5 different versions of the AI-generated reels, mimicking news reports about the supposed distribution of school incentives to students from preschool to college.

One of the bogus videos, which had the highest engagement, carried the headline:

“✅ MAGANDANG BALITA PARA SA MGA ESTUDYANTE

( deadline: Nov. 15, 2025 )

MAG REGISTER ONLINE PARA MAKASAMA SA LISTAHAN!!

( mention or tag friends mo dito )

[Good news for students

(deadline: Nov 15, 2025)

Register online to be included in the list (mention or tag your friends here.)]”

In the video, the supposed news anchor can be heard saying:

(Reminder to those who have not received school incentives, you have until November 15 only. For elementary, SPED and daycare, you will receive P3,500 school incentives and five kilos of rice. For junior and senior high school, you will receive 7,500 school incentives annually and five kilos of rice monthly. To participate, just follow us, share this video, and register online. The registration link is in our post. If you have any questions, please message us. Thank you).”

The speaker in the video then urged its audience to register using the links provided in the post, which led either to a phishing blog asking for private information or redirection to an online shopping site.

The video, along with other videos similarly claiming to distribute “school incentives,” is AI-manipulated, as indicated through the watermark “Veo” on the lower right side.

No official sources can verify the legitimacy of these FB pages, some of which were created only last October.

The circulating videos about the distribution of ‘‘school incentives’’ to students are fake and manipulated using AI.

The Department of Education and the Department of Social Welfare and Development have previously issued warnings against fake advisories about educational assistance to students.

The videos provide no background information or proof of legitimacy of the announcement.

But the videos show red flags such as the links fishing for private information and leading to an e-commerce site, as well as multiple flaws including the inconsistent appearance of the table, overlapping and distorted text, typographical errors and the contorted and unnatural movement of the speaker’s mouth indicating the use of artificial intelligence.

The “Veo” watermark can be found on the lower right of the video. “Veo,” also known as Google Veo, is an AI generator platform.

VERA Files ran the video through the AI-detection tool Hive Moderation, which showed a 99.7% likelihood of AI-generated content.

The videos were posted by FB pages Pinoy Trendline News, Pilipinas News Today, Advisory Express PH, and Edukasyon News: PH Update Today, claiming to be “TV channels” or “News and media website” for news advisories.

VERA Files has flagged several fake posts on educational assistance similar to this.

The misleading posts have so far collectively garnered a total of 30,683 reactions; 8,757 comments; 10,837 shares; and over 2 million views.
