Creatures of the night, often associated with anything haunted and old, bats are one of nature’s underappreciated animals.

These unsung heroes play a crucial role in the survival of a healthy ecosystem through seed dispersal, pollination, biological pest control, medicine, and many more.

They comprise one-fourth of all known mammal species, and almost half are considered threatened or near-threatened.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) said bat population is declining due to a variety of reasons, one of which is man’s hostility towards bats.
