THE Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) has distanced itself from the position taken by its chairman on the issue of the ‘Conscience Vote’ tarpaulin in Bacolod.
Former Ambassador Henrietta ‘Tita’ De Villa believes the Diocese of Bacolod has the right to freedom of expression and is not violating any law by displaying the tarpaulin outside the San Sebastian Cathedral. She made the comments last week over Radio Veritas.
But Lawyer Marina Demeterio, corporate secretary of PPCRV, one of the citizens’ arms of the Comelec in the May 13 elections, said in a forum Tuesday that De Villa’s comments were personal and do not reflect PPCRV’s official stand on the matter.
