Political doublespeak: omission, diversion and confusion, characterized President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s first full year in office.

VERA Files fact checked 116 statements of public figures from Jan. 16 to Dec. 2, 2023, of which 21 came from Marcos. More than half of his claims lacked context, were flip-flops, or misleading.
