Responding to a VERA Files fact check debunking his claim that “28 percent” of the International Criminal Court’s funds comes from the Philippines, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo maintained that the country had given a “substantial amount” to the tribunal.

A December 2017 ICC report shows the Philippines contributed 397,896 euros (P23.7 million) to the tribunal, or 0.28 percent of the total contributions, with the last payment made in April 2017. The Philippines ranked 33rd in the list.
