The very first coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines in the Philippines were officially administered at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) and five other referral hospitals in Metro Manila on March 1. About 600,000 doses of Sinovac Biotech’s vaccine, donated by China, arrived at the end of February at Villamor Airbase in Pasay City, which will later be distributed to other hospitals in Cebu and Davao.
