A Facebook (FB) page created a fake post about an alleged P10,000 ayuda (financial aid) from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and reshared it on three other FB groups.

The bogus post carried this photo of Marcos during a meeting in Hawaii on Nov. 20, 2023. A caption around the image read:

Gusto mo ba ng 10K Ayuda? | Mag message lang sa amin para maipadala na (Do you want P10,000 worth of financial aid? | Send us a message so we can send it).”

Users who click on the attached link are redirected to Blogspot website PRC JOB HIRING 2024, which supposedly offers a scholarship and cash assistance worth P5,000.

Clicking on the Blogspot website’s fake registration form opens pop-up ads from casinos and online betting sites. The fake form also asks for personal information.

This scam appeared two weeks after Marcos gave P10,000 worth of financial aid to farmers and fisherfolk affected by drought in Iligan City, and in the provinces of Tawi-Tawi and Basilan.
