Two videos circulating on Facebook and TikTok claim to show comedian Vice Ganda bidding farewell to her co-hosts in the noontime show “It’s Showtime”, allegedly after joking about former president Rodrigo Duterte in a recent concert. This is false.
The clips are from the 2023 final episode of the noontime show on TV5, where Vice Ganda thanked the station, before they moved to GTV.
Published on Aug. 14 on TikTok, the two-minute clip shows the comedian giving messages to her fellow hosts one by one. At the start of the misleading video, Vice Ganda can be heard saying:
“Ang aking mga kapwa Showtime hosts, maraming maraming salamat sa pagkapit ninyo. Alam ko pagod na rin kayo. Pagod na rin ako pero di ko yun ininda, kasi kumakapit rin naman tayo sa isa’t-isa”
The video also contains overlaid text and a caption that reads:
“Vice Ganda emosyonal na nagpapaalam sa Showtime family dahil sa Vice Ganda concert issue.”
Part of the video was shared by a user on FB reels on Aug. 16, with a nearly identical caption about the supposed emotional farewell.

A reverse image search using keyframes from the video led to a YouTube video uploaded by ABS-CBN’s official channel on June 30, 2023. It was the daily show’s final airing on TV5 before the program moved to GTV, a sister-channel of GMA-7.
The TikTok clip was trimmed from the start of the original video up to the 3:13 timestamp, while the Facebook reel was taken from the 3:59 mark.
Another portion of the same episode was posted by ABS-CBN on the same day with the title: “Vice Ganda expresses his gratitude to TV5”. The description box also states: “Vice Ganda expresses his gratitude to TV5 for taking care of “It’s Showtime.”
Although the comedian skipped a few episodes early last week to take a break after her concert with singer Regine Velasquez, she returned to the show on Aug. 16.
The misleading clips surfaced after Vice Ganda became controversial for a joke referencing Duterte’s failed promise to ride a jetski to the West Philippine Sea, and his detention at The Hague, Netherlands.
