To commemorate the 125th year of Philippine independence, a group of Filipinos  staged  a rally to stress their desire not to be caught in the competition between China and the United States.

The rallyists staged a protest in front of the Chinese consulate in Makati condemning  China’s “bullying” in the South China Sea.

They proceeded to Roxas Boulevard in Manila near the U.S. Embassy where they expressed their opposition against what they said is the return of American troops in the country under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement.
