Another quote card that looks meant to show Vice President Leni Robredo making silly remarks is being spread online.
Uploaded on Oct. 28 by Facebook pages Kapuso Goodvibes and Putaragis ka, the altered statement read: “Napakaganda talaga i-celebrate ang new year tuwing bagong taon (It’s really nice to celebrate the new year every new year).” One commented that it was a senseless remark and another called her a comedy queen.
The fake graphic was shared by some personal accounts on FB, and gained more traction when pages such as Federal Philippines uploaded it on Nov. 3.
Robredo never made this statement, though it resembles a real quote she made in a New Year’s video greeting to welcome 2019. “Panahon ang bagong taon para sa bagong simula (The new year is a time for a new beginning),” she said, adding that despite the challenges of the year that just ended, she hopes 2019 would be a better year for all.

The fake quote card published last Oct. 28 appeared two days after Robredo responded to allegations of vote-buying where she advised people to take the money because it is owned by taxpayers, but to vote according to their conscience.
Kapuso Goodvibes, created on March 13, 2017, has 47,460 followers. Its post had nearly 4000 reactions and 150 shares. Putaragis ka and Federal Philippines gained over a thousand reactions collectively.
