A video on Facebook (FB) is peddling a milk supplement that claims to cure kidney-related diseases, insomnia and joint and back pain. The supplement is not on the Food and Drugs Administration’s (FDA) list of certified products as advertised.

The video emerged last Dec. 19 and advertised a milk product called Neypro 1 Gold, receiving more than 543,000 recent views, according to FB. In the cover photo of its FB page, it also claims it is approved by the FDA.

A part of its caption read:

“Kidney stones, kidney failure, physiological weakness, nocturia, masakit na pag-ihi, insomnia, pananakit ng likod, pamamaga ng mga kamay at paa agad gumamit ng Neypro 1 Gold (painful urination, insomnia, back pain, swelling of the hand and foot, immediately use Neypro 1 Gold).”

A cursory search on the FDA’s Verification Portal shows that the milk supplement is not in the agency’s record of food and drugs with certificates of product registration.

Linking a website to order online and its store address, the video caption further claims it can cure these illnesses within seven to 14 days with no side effects.

To prove the product’s legitimacy, a photo of an ISO 22000 certification granted to a company named “Sai Gon Fresh Food Supply Joint Stock Company” based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam was shown on the website linked in the post. But the FB page’s store address is located in Taguig City, not Vietnam.

The website for online orders is a scam and wants to get personal information. Entering personal details will only show a brief text stating the order has been received before immediately redirecting to the FB page. No final confirmation of payment details is shown.

FB page Neypro 1 – Solution for kidney (created on Sept. 24, 2022) published the video, garnering more than 4,400 reactions, 2,500 comments, 617 shares and 692,000 views.
