The massive devastation left by severe tropical storm Kristine (International name: Trami), did not prevent the residents of Laurel, Batangas to observe the tradition of remembering the departed on All Saints Day (Nov.1) and All Souls Day (Nov.2).

Laurel,  a landlocked municipality in the coastal province of Batangas (93 kilometers from Manila), was severely hit by Kristine more than a week ago causing massive flooding and landslides that resulted in  deaths and destruction to infrastructure, property and farms.

But life has to go on. They have to  cross a river and traverse destroyed roads to go to a neighboring town. Many have to line  up for relief supplies. Children returned to schools in crisp school uniforms.

Yes, life goes on including burying the dead and honoring those who have departed.
